March 29

Sgt. Morrison and Corporal Cooper were dispatched to a disturbance on FM 2225. Upon arrival, the victim advised she and her grandson got into an argument and he fled the scene. The suspect was located in a different residence on the property. Brandon Nichols, 33, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputy Croney took a protection order violation by phone. The caller advised a male had been trying to contact her and there was currently an active protection order preventing him from calling her. This case was forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Morrison and Corporal Cooper performed a follow-up on County Road 1600. While on scene, deputies located a subject who had an active warrant. Daphney Ellsworth, 44, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Corporal Cooper performed a follow-up in Quitman. Cooper made contact with a dog owner who was told to provide proof of vaccination after a dog bite. The dog owner was unable to prove vaccination records and was given a citation.

Deputy Croney was dispatched to a theft in Holly Lake Ranch. The victim advised her husband had passed away and items from the residence were missing. The victim was still working to see if the items were allowed to be borrowed.

Deputy Way responded to a theft on County Road 3440. The caller advised a female had taken his phone. While running the caller, Way observed him to have an active warrant. Patrick Casteel, 50, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputy Burdick took a theft report by phone. The caller advised four females stole items from the store and tried to return them. The caller advised there was camera footage of the incident and they would call the next day to complete the report.

March 30

Sgt. Morrison was dispatched to a criminal mischief in Yantis. The property owner stated someone threw eggs full of paint at her vehicle. The property owner did not wish to pursue charges.

Sgt. Morrison and Corporal Cooper responded to an animal complaint on County Road 4200. The caller stated a dog owner was being aggressive towards neighbors. After deputies ran the suspect, he was found to have multiple warrants and Deven Brown, 22, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Deputy Pollard took a theft report by phone. The victim advised one of his previous employees had a work truck and would not return it. The vehicle was entered as stolen.

Deputy Pollard performed a warrant service at adult probation. Robert Piner, 25, was arrested for outstanding warrants.

Deputies were dispatched to Hawkins for an agency assist. A call came out that two males were running from officers with a gun and shooting at them. When deputies arrived on scene, they were told no offense occurred and everything was fine.

Corporal Rapp took a stolen vehicle by phone. The victim advised his vehicle was stolen and he had seen it in the area. The victim was advised the actual vehicle owner would have to file the report.

March 31

Sgt. Cox performed an agency assist at Clear Lakes Inn. Mineola PD advised a vehicle involved in a theft was at the location and the suspect wouldn’t come outside. The suspect later gave consent to search the vehicle where the stolen items were recovered. The suspects’ vehicle was towed.

Deputy Rapp was dispatched to a theft on County Road 1885. The victim advised during the night he heard a noise and the next day his UTV was missing. The UTV was entered as stolen.

April 1

Corporal Baldwin responded to a burglary in Holly Lake Ranch. The victim advised a neighbor had been entering his sister’s house and taking items. This case was forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Cox and Deputy Skinner responded to a disturbance on County Road 2980. The victim stated he and his son were arguing when he hit him in the head. The victim stated his son had been receiving mental treatment and did not know if he had been diagnosed with anything. Investigations was notified.

All deputies responded to shots fired near Jarvis. Security on scene stated they heard multiple gun shots and deputies located a large number of rounds. No suspects were located in the area.

Deputy Arellano was dispatched to a medical call on County Road 4845. On scene, Arellano located the intoxicated subject who had active warrants and Ashlie Fleming, 22, was arrested.

Deputy Rapp and Deputy Arellano responded to a vehicle in the water on County Road 1503. A caller advised there was a vehicle in the water on a boat ramp. Deputies located the vehicle owner at a hotel who appeared to be intoxicated and advised he did not try to harm himself.

Sgt. Williams, Deputy Hughes, and Deputy Arellano responded to Quitman ER. A witness advised they observed a male tied up in the back of a truck at the ER. Deputies located the male tied up who appeared to be under the influence and had been assaulted. The victim was given medical treatment and three possible suspects were given. This case was forwarded to investigations.

April 2

Deputy Arellano and Deputy Hughes responded to a terroristic threat on County Road 2174. The victim advised she was receiving threatening messages and the suspect was driving by a male’s house attempting to fight him. Arellano located the suspect’s vehicle, who then attempted to flee Arellano. Hughes was in the area and was nearly struck by the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect fled several miles into Quitman before finally stopping. David King, 37, was arrested for evading arrest and resisting arrest.

Deputy Hughes responded to a suicidal subject in Holly Lake Ranch. Upon arrival, the father of the subject had her restrained until EMS could arrive, and she was transported to receive treatment. A theft report was also completed for a separate incident.

Deputy Kovic was dispatched to a vehicle in the water on Hwy 80. Upon arrival, the driver advised they got stuck near the creek and had a friend coming to pull them out.

April 3

Corporal Cooper responded to a theft on FM 515. The store employee advised someone got a large amount of fuel and then drove off without paying. Video footage showed three separate individuals involved. This case was forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Morrison and Deputy Pollard were dispatched to a burglary in Holly Lake Ranch. The property owner stated someone entered the residence and stole multiple items. No forced entry was observed and the property owner would provide a list of missing items.

Corporal Rapp and Deputy Way responded to the Sheriff s Office lobby. A male in the lobby advised he wanted to be arrested. Due to the male being intoxicated, Daniel Johnson, 30, was arrested for public intoxication.

April 4

Sgt. Morrison and Corporal Cooper were dispatched to a suicidal subject on County Road 4890. On scene, Cooper observed the male to be under the influence of narcotics and later admitted to using narcotics. Cameron Kull, 22, was arrested for public intoxication.

Deputy Croney took a criminal trespass in the lobby. The property owner advised someone had been squatting in his vacant residence and had since left. A Chromebook was located belonging to a student and a follow up would be completed with the school.

Sgt. Morrison and Deputy Croney were dispatched to a missing person on County Road 3237. The caller advised her husband had left and she was unable to make contact. Later on deputies were able to make contact with the husband.

Deputies responded to shots fired on FM 312. On scene, deputies located a male who had been shot in the face and deputies rendered aid until EMS arrived. The suspect advised she shot her husband in the face during an argument. Michelle Freudiger, 47, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Sgt. Williams and Corporal Rapp were dispatched to a welfare check on County Road 1700. While speaking with both parties, deputies discovered the male on scene had two warrants. William Woods was arrested for outstanding warrants.
