Lady Tigers named to All-District team

With the girls basketball season officially over in the area, several Clarksville players have been named to the All District Team. Clarksville sophomore standout point guard Keileigh Edwards was the choice for a superlative award as she was named Offensive MVP. Trinity Scott, a junior and Ta’Shianna Watkins, a freshman were selected to the second team.

Tigers earn All-District honors

The Clarksville Blue Tigers boys basketball team was unable to reach post season play this year, but when all district honors were awarded recently, the Tigers were represented on the team. The squad which housed all underclassmen for almost the entire season received two first team selections as well as one player selected to the second team, and a pair of players named to the honorable mention roster.

Mount Vernon tennis opens season

In four tennis meets attended these past two weeks Mount Vernon High School’s tennis teams gained experience and achieved several top finishes as the teams began their 2024 season. The MVHS Varsity Tennis team is made up of girls: senior, Maggie Lowery; juniors, Avery Burns, Emmi Jordan, Emmy McCamant, Alea Minter; and freshman, Savannah Hentges.

Spring sports in full swing

It’s been a few weeks since the start of the softball season, and the Lady Tigers still have not played at full strength since the basketball team’s late playoff run. Lady Tigers, 7-5 record so far, will have till Tuesday to get all caught up as their first district game will be against their rivals, Lady Raiders, in Winnsboro Tuesday.
