The Lady Raiders close out the 2023-24 campaign with a 33-7 record, another district championship, and a deep postseason run. The team bulldozed all comers through the first three rounds of the UIL Class 3A playoffs with an 81-22 win over New Boston, 82-43 over Jefferson, and 6940 over Hooks.

The Rugged Red basketball team took fans on a terrific ride in 2024. A late start may have caused some early setbacks, but the boys quickly righted the ship and reeled off eight wins in their last nine district games for a second-place tie with Mineola heading into the postseason.

The Lady Raiders powerlifters advance 14 into the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association Region 3 Division 3 meet on Saturday, March 2, at Commerce. The top two out of each weight division will earn a berth in the State meet on March 14 at Comerica Center, Frisco.

Rivercrest For District 16-2-A champion Rivercrest, the basketball season came to an abrupt end on Monday night when the Rebels faced off against the District 152-A fourth seeded Cooper Bulldogs. Rivercrest would battle the Bulldogs quite tough for much of the game.

Clarksville The Clarksville Blue Tigers ended the 202324 basketball campaign on last Tuesday, falling on senior night by a score of 37-24 to the James Bowie Pirates. The Tigers failed to reach post season play, finishing fifth in the six team district race.

The Lady Tiger finish as Bi-district champions with a 25-10 season and second place in District. Tatum, ranked 29th in state with a 19-1 record, beat the Lady Tigers in by three points in an overtime victory.

The Tigers ended their season in the first round of playoffs when they hit the brick wall of an expected statebound team. The Hooks Hornets went 29-1, 12-0 in their district and made convincing work of the Tigers Tuesday, 92-40.

The No. 4-ranked Lady Raiders stunned #23 Hooks 69-40 in a Region 2 quarterfinal match on Monday at Liberty-Eylau.

Clarksville Once again the Clarksville Lady Tigers and Detroit Lady Eagles engaged in an overtime thriller when the teams met at Prairiland High School on Thursday night in the first game of a three team tournament that decided which two teams would capture the third and fourth seeds from District 16-2A, and advance to the UIL girls basketball playoffs. For Detroit, the tide turned around this time, as Coach Hiyadeja Moore’s Lady Eagles recorded a thrilling 43-40 overtime win.
