1974 - 2024 Jeffrey Dale Whitson, age 50, from Mount Vernon, Texas, met his Savior on Sunday, March 3, 2024, while in a peaceful slumber. Jeffrey was a Hunt county native but relocated to Mount Vernon in 2002 when he met the love of his life, Tricia Yvette Sweeden.

1932 - 2024 Betty Jane Parks, age 91, of Kaufman, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born on November 2, 1932, in Mount Vernon, Texas to Lloyd and Mildred “Draper” Stephens.

Juanita Hoffman Lester was entered a larger life iwth the Lord February, 06, 2024. In her own words she wrote: I was born at home on a crisp fall day, November 14, 1921. I was the second daughter born to Norris and Ora Starr Hoffman. Dr. Vickers was sent for and with the help of a neighbor, Mrs. Nellie Cook and my mother’s mother, Jennie Collins Starr (Granny Starr), who lived with us, I arrived.

Michael “Mike” Douglas Childress, age 72, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at Paris, TX. He was born on October 2, 1951 in Clarksville, TX the son of Doug and Zona Childress. Mike was a 1969 graduate of Idabel Gray High School. He married his wife Darla on December 10, 1985. He was a member of First Baptist Church Idabel as a youth and young man. Mike was a member of the Double R Cowboy Church in Clarksville, TX.

1944 - 2024 Laura Ann (Petty) Mays, of Saltillo, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the age of 79. A visitation will be held at Sam B.

1937 - 2024 Ann Hughes Stevens, a beloved resident of Mount Vernon, peacefully entered the gates of heaven on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the age of 86. Born in Mount Vernon, Texas, on August 3, 1937, to Morris and Mildred Black Hughes.

1934 - 2024 Dalton Eugene Monday Sr., a beloved member of the Winnsboro community, peacefully passed away on January 21, 2024, at his home at the age of 89. Born on April 2, 1934, in Winnsboro, Texas, Dalton was the son of the late Morris Elton and Oma Inez Monday.

1936 - 2024 Mary Estelle Bane, of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Plano, Texas. She was born to Elton Virgil and Vesta Rogers on October 5, 1936, as the youngest of three children in Artesia Wells, Texas.
