Trenton Sloan Ross, of Winnsboro, entered eternal rest on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the young age of 19. He was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on January 5, 2004, to Lexey Jo Goodwin and Justin Patrick Ross.

Robert A. Draper passed away in his home on September 30, 2023. Robert was born in Wylie, Texas on August 8, 1937, to AJ and Bobbie “Stone” Draper. Robert’s family moved to Mount Vernon when he was a young boy. His parents bought a piece of property in Mount Vernon that would later become Robert and his wife, Norma’s home till their passing. Their beautiful home and property were kept perfectly manicured by Robert and was admired by everyone who passed on Interstate 30. Robert and Norma married February 22, 1958, in Mount Vernon, Texas and soon after moved to Arlington to begin his long successful career with Commercial Metals and grow a family of three sons.

Margaret E. Woodard (Mayes) was born on February 17, 1933, to Benjamin W. Woodard and Florence Bright Woodard in Winnsboro Texas. Margaret was one of eight siblings and grew up in a small but tight-knit rural community. She graduated from Cartwright High School and moved to the big city of Dallas to live and work with her younger sister and cousin in downtown Oak Cliff. It is during this time she met and fell in love with a young soldier by the name of Floyd Mayes. They married in August 1958 in an intimate ceremony and immediately moved to Salina, Kansas where they were stationed at Schilling Air Force Base. All three of her children were born in Salina while stationed there.

Tonia Leiann Hinsley, age 53, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Sam B.

Frankie William Sweeden, born in Dallas on April 4, 1944, drew his last earthly breath Sept. 11, 2023, surrounded by his family and the love of his life, Edna, his wife of 60 years. Frank, known by most who loved him as Butch or Pop, moved with his wife to Mount Vernon in 2000 to be closer to his children and more importantly his grandchildren.

Linda Lee Weatherford Swinford, age 82, of Mount Vernon, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, following a lengthy illness. Born October 24,1940, in Franklin County, Texas, Linda was a welcome addition to the large, loving family of H.

Karla Sue (Rogers) Webber “Momma Karla” of Mount Vernon, Texas was called home September 7, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Karla was born October 5, 1960, in Mount Pleasant, Texas to Larry Dean and Peggy Rue (Evans) Rogers. She married the love of her life, Roy Olen Webber on November 18, 1977. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2018, after 41 years of marriage.

Kolt Perkins, Esquirea self described “lover, fighter, and wild horse rider” -traded in his dusty old cowboy hat for a barbed wire halo on Monday, September 4, 2023. Kolt was born to Aaron and Victoria Andrews Perkins on October 13, 1981.

Charles Eldon Lane, of Scroggins, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, suddenly at his home at the age of 74. Chuck was born on August 6, 1949, in Osage City, Kansas to Harold Albert and Ila Jean (Russell) Lane.
