Kolt Perkins, Esquirea self described “lover, fighter, and wild horse rider” -traded in his dusty old cowboy hat for a barbed wire halo on Monday, September 4, 2023.

Kolt was born to Aaron and Victoria Andrews Perkins on October 13, 1981.

He grew up in Red River County, where he attended Clarksville Independent School District.

He graduated in 2000.

Every spare moment was spent on the back of his horse with a rope in his hand and his focus on this skill set over the years made him a legendary horseman and respected 3cattle rancher. Kolt married the love of his life, Tierney Willis Perkins, in 2009, and the two of them made their life together outside of Clarksville.

They continued a long family tradition of ranching, registered Angus Beef production, private label beef processing, and fine quarter horse training and sales. Despite his many other accomplishments, Kolt’s greatest source of pride and joy was the two sons he and Tierney shared- Bleu and Burr. He worked daily to teach them the many lessons on the working ranch lifestyle. Kolt also occasionally took time away from the ranch to enjoy his boys, and he left this world doing that very thing on September 4, 2023.

Kolt’s easy laugh, big personality and even bigger heart will be missed by all those who chanced to meet him. Those lucky enough to have spent at least an hour or two with this gentle giant knew him to be a promise keeper, genuine, loyal to a fault and able to admit when he was wrong (eventually).

He was a “man of constitution” as one friend lovingly described him.

Kolt is survived by his wife, Tierney Willis Perkins; his two sons, Barron Bleu and Burr Lewis Perkins; parents, Aaron and Victoria Andrews Perkins; brother, Drew Perkins and daughter Briley; sister, Menden Perkins and son Beck; father-in-law, Mike Willis; mother-in-law, Triesta Willis; brothersin- law, Matt Willis, Todd Willis and wife, Breanna Willis and children, Tristan and Taeya, as well as a host of extended family and friends who are like family.

The family received friends Sunday afternoon, September 10, 2023, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the Cuthand Church. A Private family graveside services was folllowed at the Perkins Ranch. Rev.
