Robert Ray Pearce, age 72, of Mount Vernon, Texas (formerly of Winnsboro, Texas) passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, in Tyler, Texas.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home from 2:30-3:30 p.m. and the Funeral Service will immediately follow at 3:30 p.m. with Pepper Puyear officiating.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Pearce, Daniel Pearce, Jonathan Pearce, David Carr, Zachary Carr, and Ryan Hailey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Gilweck, Curtis Perkins, Bill Hailey, and John Dunlap. Interment will be at the Mount Vernon City Cemetery.

Bobby was born to Thomas Newton and Eva Jean (Jones) Pearce August 2, 1951 in Dallas, Texas. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Airborne in 2015 after 29 years as a tool maker.

He enjoyed metal detecting, scuba diving, gold panning and hunting. Bobby also enjoyed watching his grandson play Tigers football. He was very passionate about talking and connecting with people. The last six months he has been treasured by the Mount Vernon House staff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Eva Pearce and an infant son.

Survivors include his son, Jason and Rachel Pearce; grandchildren, Christopher and Veronica Pearce, Daniel and Selena Pearce, and Jonathan Pearce; one great grandchild, Eli Pearce; a brother, Tommy Pearce; and extended family and friends.
