Ladies cap week with shutout

The Tiger Varsity Softball team shutout Chapel Hill and Winona for their wins this past week.

The team has a 9-2 district record and a 21-9-1 season record for a solid second place in the playoffs.

The Varsity Tigers jumped off to a 12 run lead against Chapel Hill. They added two more in the third and 10 in the fourth inning to claim the win on the run-rule.

Kamryn Bolin collected four hits in five at bats, three singles and a couple, to lead the offense for the Lady Tigers. The team racked up 16 total hits in the game. Natalie Norwood and Bolin had four apiece, while Pope all had three.

Bolin led in RBIs with six. Pope had three, Norwood had two and Summer Rogers, Carsyn Sparks, Olivia Baird and Sam Edge all had one apiece.

Alexa Taylor got the win pitching two innings, allowing no runs hit or walks and striking out five. Hammonds threw one and a third innings striking the last four to earn the save.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Harmony for their last district game of the season on Friday, which starts at 6 p.m
