Reverand Harold Massey with Clarksville Youth Connection updated city council Tuesday of the status of a bus in undrivable condition that was towed to a property in Ward II in October 2023. After meeting with the Clarksville police chief, Massey said arrangements were made to move the bus to a different location while it waited for its new transmission to be installed.

Annual Friends of the Winnsboro Animal Shelter casino fundraiser This past Saturday night, February 10, Friends of the Winnsboro Animal Shelter brought Vegas to Texas. The Winnsboro Civic Center was transformed into a pop-up casino featuring a Roulette Wheel, Craps, Blackjack, Three Card Poker and Texas Hold’em, of course, all run by professional dealers.
On Tuesday, February 6, the WEDC approved a request for funding to refurbish the mural at MLK Park. The money will go to the procurement of specialized paint and sealant designed for outdoor mural work and will ensure the murals image and vibrancy of color remains for years to come.
The Winnsboro City Council met in regular session this past Tuesday, February 13. Items on the agenda included a change to city ordinance, the ordering of general elections, a request for HOT funds by Piney Woods Life Magazine and a discussion regarding Poly Cart usage in the downtown area.
