Texas Department of Transportation proposed an extensive project to widen US Highway 82 through Red River County in an effort to improve roadway safety, mobility and connectivity through the area. With three projects rolled into one, the two-lane rural highway would be expanded west of Clarksville, from West Division Street in Blossom to Business 82/State Highway 37 Junction in Clarksville, east of Clarksville, from FM 114 to the Red River/ Bowie county line, and would also include the Clarksville Loop, from SH 37 to FM 114.
